West Ward

Eastwood, Marsfield, Melrose Park, Denistone, Denistone West, Denistone East*, Macquarie Park, West Ryde

Leading the Liberal team in West Ward are your candidates Clr Trenton Brown and Daniel Han.

Energetic, hard working, and ready to secure Ryde’s future, Trenton and Daniel will fight for the essential services and infrastructure that West Ward needs, get Ryde moving again post-pandemic, and ensure we put an end to Labor’s rising debt and overdevelopment.

Clr Trenton Brown has been a tireless advocate for West Ward during his time on Council. Passionate about protecting the environment and preserving important areas of open and green space, he has secured bipartisan support for the protection of TG Millner Fields from development, and secured commitment from Ryde Council to purchase this land and ensure it remains in public hands forever.

Trenton vigorously campaigned against the Labor Party-endorsed 63 Storey ‘Laxale Towers’ development in West Ward. He remains committed to opposing overdevelopment in our area and banning the cash deals offered to Council by property developers. He also successfully campaigned to overturn the Labor-endorsed planning proposal to destroy the Macquarie Ice Rink, which will now remain a valuable community asset.

Trenton has also been instrumental in orchestrating the new Memorandum of Understanding that has been negotiated with each business chamber. This will bring long term structured support from Council to each business chamber and help them to plan and support our local shopping centres in the future.

An active community volunteer, Trenton has served in numerous community organisations such as Eastwood Heights Public School P&C, the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal organising committee, as well as Co-Founder and Vice President of the Central Eastwood Rugby Union Football Club, amongst others.

Trenton worked in the finance sector for more than 20 years as a highly qualified financial adviser who has provided investment advice to fund managers, super funds and private clients. Trenton will bring his financial acumen and governance skills to Ryde Council.

Joining Trenton is Daniel Han, a local high school teacher with a pharmacist background who has a strong connection with young adults and family, particularly in Ryde’s Korean community. Daniel has worked and lived in Ryde for over 20 years and takes particular interest in supporting the young adults and families in our community.

He is passionate about improving the livability of Ryde by delivering more diverse family-friendly community services and improvement to outdoor spaces to serve the growing community.
