West Ward ticket is led by Clr Justin Li and your candidates are Clr Justin Li and Kathy Tracey.

Long time Eastwood resident Councillor Justin Li is a familiar face to many in the local community having served as a City of Ryde councillor from 2008 to 2017, and again since October 2022, representing West Ward, and as founder of the popular online community Humans of Eastwood.

Justin previously served as Ryde’s Deputy Mayor, the first person of Chinese descent to hold that post in Ryde’s history. Among his achievements include removing the Marsfield parking meters, fighting for traffic lights in Eastwood’s town centre, making Eastwood Plaza smoking free, and extending library hours during days of extreme heat. In October 2022, Justin answered the call of his community to make a comeback and contest the West Ward by-election, to provide a safe and experienced pair of hands following Jerome Laxale’s resignation from Council.

Kathy Tracey is a married mother of four sons who has lived in Marsfield for over 45 years. Kathy has vast financial & accountancy experience throughout various companies over the past 30 years.

She is a tireless volunteer, dedicating her life to giving back to her local community. Kathy became involved in football through her boys. In 2023, she stepped down as President of Macquarie Dragons Football Club after serving the Club for 24 years. In 2023 she was inducted into the North West Sydney Football Association (NWSF) as a Life Member. Kathy has volunteered at her local school Eastwood Heights Public School for over 20 years. She strives to make a meaningful difference to as many people as possible. Her commitment extends beyond just the sports field; she is a lifelong resident of Ryde, having formed relationships in school communities, business chambers and multicultural groups over several decades.

This will be critical to ensuring we attract new Liberal voters. Kathy’s vision is to ensure that everyone, regardless of their background or abilities, has the opportunity to participate in and benefit from community sports and activities. Through her unwavering dedication, Kathy continues to be a driving force for positive change, setting an example of community service and leadership.

Both are long time residents of West Ward and familiar faces in the local community, they are passionate about building Eastwood’s new car park, saving TG Millner Fields, improving traffic management.
